FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is CapeForge?

It's a free browser tool by Mint Dino that turns your own artwork, GIFs, or videos into an animated Minecraft Bedrock cape, complete with real cape physics.

Does this work on Minecraft Bedrock?

Yes. The exported .mcpack is a Minecraft Bedrock resource pack built from Mint Dino's existing physics cape system.

How many animation frames can I use?

As many as you want — anywhere from a single static frame up to hundreds of frames. For the smoothest in-game performance we suggest keeping it to around 24 or fewer, but the creator will let you go higher if you want.

Can I upload a GIF?

Yes. The creator decodes your GIF's frames directly in your browser.

Can I upload a video?

Yes, where supported by your browser — MP4 and WebM both work. The creator samples frames from the video for you to choose from.

Can I use PNG frames?

Yes. Upload a single PNG for a static cape, or several PNGs to build an animation.

What FPS should I use?

Around 4 FPS is a good starting point for most cape animations, and you can adjust it anywhere from 1 to 20 to see what feels right.

Does the cape have physics?

Yes — the exported pack uses the existing Mint Dino cape physics system, so your cape sways and reacts to movement just like the original.

Is the creator free?

Yes, completely. There's no premium plan, subscription, or paid export — every feature described on this site is free.

Do I need an account?

No account is required to create or download a cape.

Where do I get the .mcpack?

After you generate your cape, a Download .mcpack button appears — the file downloads straight to your device.

Can I use my own artwork?

Yes, as long as you have the rights to use it. You're responsible for any artwork you upload.
